Ms. Teddie Laing is the Executive Director of the Carrie P. Meek Entrepreneurial Education Center, which is a major outreach center of Miami Dade College’s North Campus. She oversees degree and certificate programs in Accounting, Business Entrepreneurship, Criminal Justice, Graphic and Web Design, Management, Marketing, Nursing, Technology, and more. Prior to Ms. Laing’s current role, she served as a School of Global Business Department Chairperson for 18 years at Miami Dade College.
Ms. Laing is the Program Lead for Miami Dade College’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Capacity Building Certificate Program, which is an initiative of the Miami MBDA Business Center, operated by M. Gill & Associates. The 9-hour training program is designed to build management, financial, and technological capacities of minority businesses to achieve higher productivity, scalability, and business profitability. Ms. Laing also administers the Business Entrepreneurship Start-up Development Project that teaches college students how to start and operate a business enterprise. Both innovative entrepreneurship programs offer scholarships and are funded by the Minority Business Development Agency of the U. S. Department of Commerce. Ms. Laing enjoys family and friends, community service outreach, and collaborating with industry to enhance the success and advancement of college students and minority businesses. She earned bachelor’s and master's degrees and has completed course work for a doctorate in Business Management at Capella University.
