Robert Barrera

President
REAL Mobile

Robert Barrera has a long history as an entrepreneur founding various businesses. The most recent has been REAL Mobile, Established in 2011. The company offers wireless activation service and works with independent cellular stores throughout the nation. Initially acting as a master agent, REAL Mobile set up over 900 outlets. In addition to wireless service, REAL Mobile formed and launched its own VoIP switch whereby it offers Direct-Dial International and Long-Distance calling services. This service, marketed under the brand Talk Now is available online and through Independent Retail Stores.
In January of 2014, with the help of some backbone partners, REAL Mobile launched its own wireless service that bought the Sprint and later AT&T cellular networks under its operations. Plans were offered on a prepaid basis and are marketed through independent cellular phone stores. Currently, REAL Mobile provides Cloud Based PBX services for businesses on its owned-and-operated VoIP platform, as well as Push to Talk (PTT) services over cellular field radios and cellular services. This initiative combines the company’s VoIP platform with a powerful multi-carrier SIM service expanding Real Mobile’s cellular services worldwide. With help from the Florida MBDA Export Center Team, Real Mobile was recently awarded a GSA Schedule Contract to provide telecom services. As a result, the company has won many federal contracting opportunities on GSA’s open market platform. Most recently, the company has engaged with industry partners, including AT&T and Sprint to launch and deploy innovative technology, in response to the lack of broadband connectivity in disadvantaged and underserved communities.
On behalf of the U.S. Department of Commerce – MBDA and Florida’s MEDWeek 2021 Host Committee, we are proud to honor Real Mobile with the Statewide Minority Technology Firm of the Year Award. CONGRATULATIONS!
